Afrofuturismo: An Afrofuturism Film Fest in Brazil runs through December 2. Titled Afrofuturismo: Cinema, Music and the Intergalactic Diaspora, the event kicked off last Thursday, and is held at the famed Caixa Belas Artes movie theater and entertainment complex in Sao Paulo. Program curators contacted Bar Star City's Ytasha Womack to include a chapter of her book Afrofuturism in the event's catelog (translated into Portuguese of course)

Blue 1647's technology lab coordinator Rashad Glover thought it would be really cool to do 3D printed imaging of our director Ytasha L. Womack. It took five minutes to scan her tresses and another four hours to print. The detail is impressive. "Scanning her took forever," said Glover, noting that the scanning process usually takes one minute. "I had to keep trying from different distances to capture the texture in the hair.
Actress/Designer Kfleye and renown poet Saul Williams are the epitome of style in this photo. We just had to share.
